I am very pleased with this clock, just the right size for a fairly substantial spot that needed something larger, but not overwhelmingly big. The classic style is traditional but could fit into many styles of elegant decor, in this case southwest ranch. I can read it easily across a large room. As others have noted, it is made of plastic, light as a feather, with no back cover over the battery area (takes 1 AA), so it would only work where no one can see it from behind. The subtle gilt overlay really makes it, matches our lamp as well as the gilt on the picture frame. Works great so far, completely silent. And it is a bargain compared to other similar items.
