If you’ve grown tired of relentless price hikes from your favorite streaming platforms, it’s nice to know that free TV streaming services such as Tubi, Kanopy and Pluto TV can be counted on for all kinds of great shows and movies. New films and TV shows arrive on these platforms every month, making them fantastic options if you don’t want to pay for another service.
This month, Tubi’s got a couple of original films rolling out, including A Good Man 3 (Aug. 7) and My Husband’s Sister (Aug. 21), along with hits like Dirty Dancing, Zodiac and the action thriller XXX. On Kanopy, recent releases like Sentimental Value, It Was Just an Accident and Reading Lolita in Tehran are just a few of the great movies you can watch if you have your library card handy.
We’d also like to highlight the amazing slate of movies from the 1990s available this month on Pluto TV, from blockbusters like The Fugitive and Ghost to beloved films like Set It Off and Hard Eight, which was Paul Thomas Anderson’s directorial debut. (Anderson’s Boogie Nights is also streaming free on Fawesome this month.) There are also lots of great A24 films dropping this month across Kanopy, Pluto, Plex and more, including Lady Bird, Green Room and Red Rocket.

TubiA Good Man 3 (Aug. 7)
In the Tubi original A Good Man 3, we’re reunited with Ethan (Kamal Smith), a man who has been relentlessly cheated on by past wives and girlfriends. In this film, Ethan starts using a dating app for spouses looking to have affairs, and, yes, that idea is as bad as it sounds, and things go horribly wrong for him.
