Great alternative to the full-size Latte Senior palette w/ a great shimmer highlight
CLIO makes my favorite K-beauty eye shadow formula that applies like a dream. I have several of their larger palettes and was curious if there was overlap between this mini-palette and the full-size Latte Senior palette. If you are also curious, the answer is yes (see pic); it's definitely the same color story with a few overlapping colors BUT in my opinion the shimmer highlight alone makes it worth it, as there is not a shimmer of any sort in the full-size palette. As always, the packaging is super "kawaii" but in a different way than the normal stickers. The embossing for these Korean Royal Heritage editions is really pretty! As for the color story, this is a true neutral, making it great for all undertones and for light to medium skintones. It's also very office-appropriate and while it has more pigment than many other K-beauty brands, it's basically impossible to over-apply. It's perfect for a sheer wash of color, including the darkest color, as K-beauty powders do not apply as intensely as they appear in the pan like Western shadows do. The "no-makeup makeup" look they suggest at the bottom of the listing is awesome. I love how this palette can do double-duty and that two of the top three colors work as either shimmer or matte highlights. You can also use this to do a gentle powder aegyo sal. It's also possible for lighter skintones to use the first two colors on the bottom row as contour and bronzer, so if you are in the traditional range of Korean cushion colors (up to and including shade 25) this could be a multi-tasking travel palette for you as you could also use the darkest shade wet or dry for eyeliner and possibly even brow powder. All that is missing is blush! Considering how easy this is to use and apply, I think it would be great for beginners and people who are interested in makeup but put off by heavier looks. I know with my light olive muted skintone, many Western products can make me look garish or orange or ill, and K-beauty opens up a whole new world for people like us. It used to come at the expensive of powdery formulas with a lot of fallout, but this isn't the case with CLIO. These remind me of old formulas for SyndeyGrace; almost creamy, but in this case, without the intensity of pigment so you can build the color up as much as you like (or don't). Because it's universally flattering, it also takes the guesswork out of application and makes it easy for beginners to learn the different steps. I would recommend these mini-palettes or any of the full-size palettes to anyone interested in K-beauty eyeshadow or disappointed by the powderiness and staying powder of other K-beauty shadows. PS: Though not strictly necessary, an eye shadow primer or even a thin layer of concealer applied first as a base will really help the shadow last all day without creasing or fading. PPS: These are small and have less shadow than Western brands; however, this is also reflected in the lower pricing. Hope that helps!

    i have all of these palettes and i love them. one of them did come cracked thanks to rough deliveries but the brand helped me out and sent another. they are very soft colors for an every day look. very buttery and blendable. the highlights are especially buttery smooth and soft when applying and blending. if you want an easy everyday natural look i would recommend these.

    These are lovely, subtle colors that blend well. But if you are expecting to do a glam, evening look with these, you will be disappointed. These are meant to give you that "natural, healthy skin plus…" Korean skincare/makeup look. For reference, I am fair-skinned. I did a full-on eye look with these and said to my hubs, "Hey, I'm trying my new Korean eyeshadow palette. What do you think?" He said, "Oh, I couldn't even tell you had eyeshadow on. It just looks like you."!!! So if you're looking for something to accentuate your natural coloring or you don't like to look like you have makeup on, this palette is for you. And if you need all-day wear, you will absolutely need to reapply.

    This goes on smoothly, and the colors are soft and blendable. This is one of the best eye shadow palettes I’ve found for my fair skinned, cooled toned self. I also bought the bigger palette that is similar, but I like this one better.

    Beautiful textures and nuanced shades, but SUPER subtle

    I purchased both Lilac Talk and Rose Preset on sale—let's just say I'm glad I didn't pay full price. Both palettes have beautifully nuanced, muted shades and a super silky texture that seems to glide on effortlessly without threatening to become patchy, almost like a blurring setting powder for the eyelids. However, their fatal flaw is that they're almost laughably lacking in pigment, even relative to my other Korean eyeshadows; I would sooner describe them as tinted powders rather than full on eyeshadows. They're not necessarily nonexistent, but I definitely have to work to get them to show up. I will say that the texture is conducive to this process, though, as layering the shadow doesn't cause it to become cakey, but I'm also inclined to think that its blendability is due in part to its super sheer pigment. For context, I have fair/light olive skin and typically sit at around 21-22 in Korean base products, so the fact that I'm breaking a sweat to get the colors to be discernible is a little unacceptable to me (to give them the benefit of the doubt, however, I have not yet tried them with an eyeshadow primer, so there's a possibility that they'll pop more on top of one). There's something to be said about how the shadow's sheerness serves to impart a watercolor effect that's more trendy in Korean makeup, and there is definitely something beautiful and sophisticated about the look. However, I would advise that those with skin any deeper than mine think twice about purchasing these colorways, at least, as I can't speak to the others.

    First of all, the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. The Royal Heritage Edition design feels elegant and special, and it looks even prettier in person.
    The eyeshadow colors are also very well balanced. Even though this is a smaller 6-pan palette, the shades work beautifully together and are not overly bright or harsh. The pigmentation is soft and buildable, which makes it easy to create natural everyday makeup looks without worrying about the colors looking too heavy.
    I was also happy that there was not much fallout, and the shadows blend very smoothly on the eyes.
    I especially recommend this palette for people who prefer soft Korean-style makeup looks. The color selection also works really well for people who are somewhere between warm and cool undertones, since the shades feel very wearable and versatile.
