As someone who works out regularly at the gym, I like to keep a selection of home workout tools at my house for days when I can't make it out to the gym. So when I saw these Pilates Reformer Resistance Cords, I was eager to give them a try.
The idea behind these cords is really good, in that they mimic some of the actions you get from a pilates reformer machine. They seem to be durable and good quality, like they will hold up over time. They come with instructions showing quite a few different exercises you can do with them. They're lightweight and easily portable, so would be good for travel.
The problem with these cords, however, has to do with the sizing and stretch of them. I am 5'6" tall. And at that height, I feel that I am not tall enough to get a very good workout from these. The bands are too stretchy for me, as at my height there is not enough space between the bands to provide strong enough resistance to give me a good workout…and there's no way to adjust them. So the resistance feels pretty minimal. They're sufficient for some basic stretching moves, but in order to get a good resistance workout, I think I'd need about 4-6 more inches in height; at my height, they just don't do the job.
So overall, while I like the idea of these, they didn't work that well for me. For someone who is around 5'10" or taller, I think these would utilize your height effectively to give a good workout…but for people shorter than that it doesn't provide much of a resistance workout. For tall folks, I think these are a good option, and priced at $18.99, a good value for the money, as well.
