I have been meaning to pick up a new headset with microphone. I record a bit of audio and do some calls. I prefer a wired headset to a wireless one just to eliminate one more thing that can go wrong. I only need a single ear and USB connection. So, this model from Yealink looked to have what I needed. I was looking for something with noise cancellation since I have several 3D printers running in my office. I also wanted something lightweight and easy to swap ears. The microphone boom arm is bendable and swivels over 300 degrees, allowing it to be used on either side and moved well up or down to be away from your mouth. It has an in-line controller that allows you to increase/decrease the audio volume, mute/unmute, and answer/end call. There's also a Teams button, though I don't use Teams. When you use the mute button, it lights and speaks "mute on"/"mute off" which is a nice help to avoid the ever popular "sorry I was talking on mute" issue. I am pleased with the comfort. The foam ear piece is replaceable. I haven't investigated the availability of replacements yet, however. The headpiece is adjustable. I find it most comfortable fully extended, and it ends just above my opposite ear. That seems to hold the ear piece with the least tension against my ear. I am using Windows 11 and simply plugged it into a USB-A port and it was immediately recognized. I compared the audio recording quality to my old headset and it's notably clearer than my old one. It has a little less low-end with better voice clarity. The listing mentions that it requires a lithium battery, but I can find no place where it has a battery. There is also a mention of "life time warranty." I'm really happy with Yealink headset. It's comparably priced to the one I'm replacing and it has better audio output and voice pickup. It's comfortable and does what I need.
